Why We Exist

Built to Strengthen America’s Healthcare Workforce

Since 2010, NHWFA has supported healthcare workforce development, credential awareness, education pathways, employer collaboration, and workforce readiness initiatives designed to connect the people and organizations that keep healthcare moving.

Our Purpose

NHWFA exists because healthcare workforce challenges cannot be solved by employers, schools, staffing agencies, credentialing bodies, or candidates working alone. The healthcare workforce needs connection, visibility, verification, readiness, and collaboration.

We were created to help build a stronger workforce ecosystem — one that connects healthcare employers, qualified professionals, education partners, credentialing organizations, staffing partners, workforce leaders, communities, and patients through one national infrastructure model.

Our History

Founded From Education, Credentialing, and Workforce Experience

NHWFA was founded in 2010 by leaders with experience in healthcare education, credentialing, workforce development, certification preparation, employer engagement, and healthcare career pathway support. That foundation shaped our mission to help connect the full healthcare workforce ecosystem.

Why NHWFA Was Needed

✓ Employers need direct access to prepared healthcare talent.

✓ Candidates need visibility, career pathways, and workforce readiness.

✓ Schools need stronger employer alignment and workforce outcomes.

✓ Credentialing bodies need verification awareness and workforce trust.

✓ Staffing partners need stronger pipelines and collaboration.

✓ Communities need a stable healthcare workforce to support patient care.
